MLC Member Celebrates Official Launch of Mobile Lab

Eastern Oregon University’s GO STEM Hub joined the MLC last summer and since then we’ve been able to follow their journey - including a ribbon-cutting ceremony and official launch just last week for their new Mobile Maker Lab!

As a mobile lab in the truest form, the Mobile Maker Lab visits diverse schools across the Eastern Oregon region, allowing opportunities for fifth graders to learn the basics of circuitry. A STEM instructor shows students how to use wire strippers, a soldering iron, and other tools to make a safe extension cord - and bonus - a visiting electrical contractor inspects the cords to expose students to the importance of complying with code. The Mobile Maker Lab was created with the mission of making STEM education accessible to all students across Eastern Oregon, no matter how remote their location.

A big congratulations to the Mobile Maker Lab! We are excited to see what is in store next.
